Tablescape Tuesday: Where the Wild Things Are...

I can't believe how fast this month is flying by...(I know, I say this every month, don't I?)...and that Halloween will be here next week!  Even though my little one is not old enough yet to really enjoy trick or treating, and all the festivities that go along with Halloween, we will still be celebrating....and yes, of course he has a costume!! When I came across this adorable backyard Halloween bash, I immediately fell in LOVE. The vibrant colors, precious kids and those funky west elm plates....who wouldn't love this tablescape??

Tablescape Tuesday: Glamping

Although I enjoy the outdoors, I have to admit I am just not a camper. Glamping, however....I can get into that! So, when I came across this tablescape for a glamping dinner party, I immediately fell in love. As you've heard me say many times, I love to entertain outdoors during the fall season. In the South, when the sweltering summer days come to a close and the crisp fall air descends, its the perfect time to gather outside with friends for dinner or just cocktails. This party has me wanting to style my own glamping tablescape for fall. My favorite part just might be the gold dripped mason jars.....

Want to create your own glamping tablescape? Here are my tips for achieving this look...

Tablescape Tuesday: Dinner in the Woods

Fall is probably my most favorite season of the year, and I think, the most perfect time to entertain outdoors (for those of you who live in the South!). While fall temperatures haven't quite hit here in the South, I feel like its getting close and I CANNOT wait!! This gorgeous tablescape has me day dreaming about fall, its beautiful colors and textures and hopefully cooler weather that is just around the corner...

Tablescape Tuesday: Pink Peony Picnic

Pink peonies...jumbo balloons...streamers...gold crowns...now this is my kind of party! This sweet tablescape was featured on 100 Layer Cake-let, but despite it being planned for a little girl's birthday, I think I would be quite content with being the guest of honor!

Tablescape Tuesday: Floral Runner

I wish I could click my heels three times, open my eyes and find myself magically sitting at this gorgeous tablescape. I love the idea of a floral table runner instead of a massive floral centerpiece. I always hate it when I can't see the person across the table from me because the flowers are in the way! This alternative makes a statement without dominating the setting.

Tablescape Tuesday: All American

Today, I thought I would share with you the patriotic tablescape I styled for Celebrate Magazine. This is one photo shoot I will never forget! As you can see we were outside, and on my way to the location the day of the shoot it was pouring down rain. Not what you want to happen when you NEED to be outdoors. Luckily, the rain stopped and we were able to get set up, BUT then it decided to rain AGAIN. The crew on set helped me move the table underneath an awning and we were able to get some tight detail shots until the rain stopped. This happened at least twice during our shoot, and then the final time we were out in the yard, the sprinklers came on!! It was an insane day. HOT, HUMID and WET. Despite the weather, I think the photos came out great!

One of my favorite details from the day was using a drop cloth as a table cloth. I stamped stars in red paint on the cloth to give it a festive look!

Tablescape Tuesday: Red, White and Blue

With the 4th of July just around the corner, it's time to start planning your patriotic celebration! Sometimes I feel that red, white and blue themes can get a little cheesy. However, this one is rustic yet classic and is the perfect nod to this holiday. I love the casual feel, it makes me want to kick off my shoes, walk through the sand and grab a festive frozen drink...

Tablescape Tuesday: Bohemian Flair

I was on pinterest this weekend and spotted this fabulous table styled by Southern Social Events on Ruffled. I love the Bohemian look and have lately wanted to put together a tablescape featuring that theme but just haven't had the opportunity or the confidence to pull it off! The mix of patterns used are simply perfect.  Combine that with a gorgeous centerpiece, festive chair detail and chandeliers and you've got yourself one unforgettable table. I just can't get enough of it, so you got lots of eye candy...i.e. pictures... to check out this morning!

Tablescape Tuesday: Cutting Board Placemats

I always love seeing unique ways to set a table so when I came across this image of cutting boards used as placemats, I just had to blog about it. Rustic elements definitely make my heart skip a beat, so of course this table has quickly become one of my favorites. The simple sprig of rosemary at each place setting is a nice touch and I'm sure adds a note of fragrance as well. To me this is a perfect organic look for outdoor summer parties that can be dressed up or down!

Tablescape Tuesday: Shibori Inspired Bridal Shower

A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to be a "fly on the wall" at this fabulous styled shoot by Kathleen Cook and Spindle Photography.  The inspiration behind this bridal shower tablescape is the Japanese tradition of Shibori...a method using indigo to dye cloth with a pattern of binding, folding or twisting. I am officially obsessed with the color indigo, so of course this shoot was right up my alley. Throw in a gorgeous, bright and cheerful floral arrangement, gold flatware, calligraphy, and Anthropologie dinnerware and you have me at hello...

This shoot was recently featured on 100 Layer Cake, so to see the rest of the beautiful images from Spindle Photography, including the DIY on Shibori, click here!

Tablescape Tuesday: Mother's Day Brunch

I'm so in love with this beautiful Mother's Day Brunch tablescape from Camille Styles. Aren't the flowers simply gorgeous?? While they do seem formal, the casual place settings tend to make this a more approachable table. If you don't want to splurge on flowers, spring is the best time for gathering blooms from your yard.

How will you be celebrating Mother's Day this year?

Tablescape Tuesday: My Baby Shower!

This past weekend my sweet sister and friends hosted the most beautiful baby shower for me and my little bun in the oven. So of course I just had to share some images today for Tablescape Tuesday :). The dining room table was set as a buffet for the the brunch with beautiful silver pieces, fine china, and annie glass. Flowers from the garden were displayed in silver cups and a sweet baby carriage. Each hostess picked out her favorite children's book and those graced the table along with silver baby rattles.

And, just for fun, here are a few snapshots from the shower...not related to the table :)

Tablescape Tuesday: Blue & White

I'm crazy about this blue and white spring tablescape designed by Cassandra Lavalle from Coco + Kelley. I always get a little bit nervous when mixing patterns, but Cassandra seems to do it so effortlessly. I love the pattern play of the plates layered with the napkin, and the blue and white vases seem to fit just perfectly too. One of my favorite places to add a little character to the table is with glassware, so of course I can't get enough of these fun green glasses Cassandra uses as part of her tablescape. These images have me wanting to host a spring dinner party....what about you?

Tablescape Tuesday: Easter

Easter is just around the corner, and if you haven't planned your tablescape yet, here is some inspiration for you! I love the rustic yet elegant vibe of this Easter picnic I spotted over on Style Me Pretty Living from Jessamyn Harris and The Monkey Flower Group. Easter doesn't have to be just about your fine china and silver. Take your celebration outdoors and let nature and flowers pop against simple white tableware.
